6000 GPM Pump Water From Wetlands/Farmland “NOT” Tested

It has been confirmed by several reliable sources that the water being pumped from “commissioner” Gabelein’s wetland/farmland into Puget Sound was not tested by Island County for anything, (much less fecal matter), as Ray represented to the county commissioners and the public.

The 6,000 gallons per minute pump has been operating, despite demands that it stop.

A copy of the testing that was done by the county of the golf course water in 2006 shows that it was not tested for chemicals, such as fertilizer.

The water being pumped into the Sound is brown and stinks. The wetlands are being pumped down to mud at times in the slough area where the water is supposed to go out the tide gate system. When the water level is below the pipes that lead to Useless Bay that is detrimental to the tide gate system.

Citizens in Support of Useless Bay Community have respectfully requested that this water be tested by the county and that the pumping be shut down until it can be shown that the water is not contaminating Puget Sound, where dead fish have recently been observed floating in Deer Lagoon.
